The Mandurah Entrance Road (MER) is being delivered by Southern Gateway Alliance (SGA) the same team who delivered the Kwinana Freeway extension and Forrest Highway, which opened to traffic on 20 September 2009.
Both the State and Federal Governments have committed funding to the MER project, which will see around 6.5 kilometres of 4 lane dual carriageway, built from the new interchange with the Kwinana Freeway in Stake Hill to Mandurah Road in the vicinity of the Mandurah train station.
Construction of the Mandurah Entrance Road commenced during the first week of September 2009 and is expected to be opened to traffic in late 2010.
